A Note to Prospective Students

I’m writing to give you an update about BICS. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision not to enroll students for this coming academic year (2020-2021).

This decision was made with heavy hearts, but through much prayer and consideration.  We came to the conclusion that too much of our program would be affected for us to continue our focus of making disciples in community.  Because BICS is relational, so much of the community development would be lost, and that would not be ideal for the students, staff and faculty.

SO, what does this mean for you, a prospective student for the fall of 2021?  It means several things.  First, the class for 2021 looks very strong already, with students from 2020 indicating that they would defer and enroll a year later.  And, we have met many students who are considering joining us for 2021 (including you!) and some of them are already making plans to become part of our BICS family next fall.

Second, it means some good enhancements of the program.  In the over 32 year history of the BICS program, we have gotten better at doing what we do, and this year will be no different.  We are considering how to improve our academics, technology, and residential situation to best service our students.  We will make the most of this year in order to be ready to welcome the Class of 2022 next year.

Last, it means that you can still come on schedule!  Our expectation is that we will fully reopen fall of 2021.  We think a year from now more of the unknown questions will be answered so that we can welcome you here to the Berkshires in 2021!

We know that God is in control of this entire situation – not one thing happens outside of His control.  As a result, we can have confidence that though this is not ideal from a human perspective, it is absolutely how our Lord and Father planned for this year to go.  We take assurance and joy in that fact, and we hope that you do as well.

Please reach out if you have any questions or if there is anything that I can do to be of service.

God bless,
Ben
